South Korea has become the latest front for the Coronavirus outbreak (A disease caused by a COVID-19. A new type of Corona virus first found in Wuhan province of China. Still there are no vaccine to prevent or cure) outside China. Government officials confirmed of hundred new cases on Friday. New patients of COVID-19 were diagnosed in a city of Daegu, the country’s fourth largest and situated in south eastern part of the country. Government is trying to take necessary steps to stop domestic spread of the coronavirus, as total number of cases rises to 204. Second death of country was reported on Friday. 50-year-old woman was the latest victim who was living in Daegu. According to the Prime minister Chung Sye-Kyun it is an emergency as two dead and 100 of new cases emerged. Special care zones were declared among south eastern cities of Daegu and Chengdu, officials confirmed.
The Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony
Everyone wonder what is happening in Daegu. A branch of religious sect called ‘The Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony’ is among the crowded city’s biggest cluster. 9,000 members of a religious sect was self-quarantine after the some of them were found infected with coronavirus aka COVID-19. The authorities are in believe current spreading was originated in Chengdu city and 61 year old woman is possibly linked to these infections among followers. There was a large gathering of sect followers, attended a founder’s brother’s funeral 31st January to 2nd February become the sect was a coronavirus hotbed. Hence, they were declared self-quarantine after fear of domestic outbreak of the virus. Thirteen new cases were found in Daegu area and over 1000 people were checked for virus infections. Twelve people made full recoveries of positive COVID-19 infections.
Iran has outbreak on the holy city of Qom, South to the Tehran. Health Minister said virus may have spread all over the country. Lebanese Health Minister Hassan Hamad said 45-year-old woman who identified as infected was travelled from Qom. WHO (World Health Organisation) spokesman said both Iran and Lebanon has capacity to detect the virus but they will give further assistance.
Over 2,000 people were died and more than 75,000 infected
According to Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, chief of World Health Organization, the measures taken by China and other effected country has given us chance to fight with the outbreak but we need to act more quickly as the window of opportunity is closing. Over 2,000 people were died and more than 75,000 infected worldwide. Almost all of the patients were linked to China.
Both stock markets and sales have fall further as coronavirus affecting the global economy. Businesses are not going on as usual. On Friday the US stock market fell for the second straight day. Investors feared for further fall. Even though no South Korean were killed by the virus, impact on economy is huge. Which was already experiencing lagging growth. Top South Korean car manufacturers including Hyundai and Kia were already reduce or halt their production. Shortage of parts from China and break of supply chain forced them to do so. Vice Foreign minister Kim Yong-beom said to the media “China is the second largest economy in the world, and we are closely tied to the Chinese economy, So I believe that a sizable shock will be inevitable”.
