Here is everything you need to know about the app.
1. Secure using Fingerprint lock.
You can secure your WhatsApp using fingerprint unlock. This way, only people who have their fingers registered before on their phones will be able to access WhatsApp.
To do, go to Settings >> Accounts >> Privacy and scroll down to fingerprint lock.
2. Pin Conversation or take shortcuts.
If you wish to keep a particular conversation on top. You can simply long-press the conversation and select the pin icon that appears on top.
3. Email chat conversations
Can email the entire conversation with a contact.
To do Settings>> Chat>> Chat History.
4. WhatsApp Sticker Pack
WhatsApp added a rich collection of stickers, Emojis, and GIFs. Users can also download different stickers pack, using the play store. Users can create their own sticker packs.
5. Mark Messages
If You wish to mark important messages (Addresses, Phone Numbers, Important Images, Names) there is an easy way to do it.
- To do – Just long-press a message and tap the star icon in the top menu.
6. Change font, Bold, Italic, Strikethrough
You can format fonts of your WhatsApp messages. To do so, long-press the portion of text you wish to format after typing it in the message input field.
You can manually format test as follows
- *ABC* = ABC
- _ABC_ = ABC
- ~ABC~ =
7. Set privacy Option
You can decide who gets to see your profile pics, last scene, statuses. You can find all these privacy options under Settings.
To do – Settings>> Account>> Privacy.
8. BackUp Data
Backing up WhatsApp data on Google drive gives you a convenient way to restore and protect your chat messages and media when you switch your phone to another or reinstall.
Go to Settings>> Chat>> Chat Backup.
9. Save data and storage space
WhatsApp provided an option to save your mobile data. The company knows the fact that a user receives a lot of photos or videos in a group chat or separately.
Because of that, you can save your mobile data in WhatsApp and still get notifications and messages.
Go to Settings>>Data and Storage usage.
10. WhatsApp Dark Mode
The Dark mode was recently introduced to both Android and iOS. This feature will ensure people experience less strain on their eyes in low-light environments.
While Facebook has already released the dark mode for its desktop version, Also WhatsApp is soon expected to do the same. WhatsApp’s dark mode version of the web was introduced in action in February 2020.
11. Delete message after you sent them
This is one feature that WhatsApp introduced in late 2017. The App now allows you to ‘unsend’ messages that have already sent, but there is a catch. The feature works for messages sent in the nearly last 60 minutes.
Also, the delete message feature will be rendered ineffective, even within the 7-minute time, if someone has already quoted your message.
12. Schedule WhatsApp Messages
To schedule messages for groups or individual contacts, you can download the Scheduler app. After getting it Accessibility permission, you can fill in the required fields and schedule your message through WhatsApp.
13. Share Live Location
Now we can share a live location with your contacts. The location is updated in real-time and you can keep a tab on the exact whereabouts of specific contacts. You can share location for 15 minutes, 1 Hour, or 8 hours onward.
14. Animated Stickers
WhatsApp has introduced animated stickers to its users. Announcing the same, Twitter account saying, “Animated stickers are available now.” The animated sticker packs are now appearing the normal sticker packs in the Sticker Store.
The animated stickers are available on both Android and iOS and it will also be available for the desktop version.
15. Send long duration audio recordings
WhatsApp has added another new feature that lets users send long Voice messages.
You can press and hold the microphone icon and then slide it to a lock button. Now can record long messages hands-free.
