Kobe Bean Bryant was an American basketball player who was born in August 23 1978, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents named him after a menu which was in a Japanese Restaurant ‘Beef of Kobe’ and his second name was acquired from his father’s nickname ‘Jelly Bean’. He was a son of former NBA (National Basket Association) champion Joe Bryant and wife Pam Bryant, and a nephew of the famous basketball player John Chubby Cox. He has two sisters named Shaya Bryant, Sharia Bryant. The Bryant family is Catholic. His affection towards the game started at the age of three and the ‘Lakers’ was his favourite team by the time. At the age of six his family moved to Rieti and from there they moved to Reggio Calabria, Pistoia, Reggio Emilia in Italy. He adjusted his new lifestyle and learnt Italian really well. It is said that ‘Reggio Emilia’ was the place which is considered to be a loving place where he made his best childhood memories. Other than basketball he learnt to play soccer too. ‘A.C Milan’ was his best loved soccer team. Throughout the summer he played in a basketball league at United States.

In the year 1991 he was admitted to the Lower Merion High school in Philadelphia. He has joined the school basketball team and leading a state championship in a row for four years. During his junior year he was named as the Pennsylvania Player of the Year and also he earned a nomination from fourth-team Parade All-American by being highlighted from the college recruiters. When he was in his senior year, he was the only one who was able to play in the State championship for 53 years. He concluded his academic profession as the top ranker of South-eastern Pennsylvania by gaining 2,883 points.

Greg Downer was his first team coach and Bryant have received good comments from him. He has guaranteed his admission for any college as his choice mainly because of the skills he had for basketball and abled to scored for his SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) marks of 1080, but surprisingly he didn’t choose any college.

He could speak English, Italian, Spanish really well. He bynamed him as “Black Mamba” in the middle of the year 2000 but, during the season 2012-2013 he started calling him as “Vino” and it describes the way he plays. And according to the Forbes magazine his net worth is estimated over $500 million by ranking on the Forbes’ list of world’s highest-paid athletes.
When he was 21 (1999 November), met a background dancer on the music video “G’d Up” , 17-year-old Venessa Laine and they got engaged after about six months in May 2000. They were married on April 18, 2001, at St. Edward a confessor catholic church in California. Because Bryant’s parents were against this marriage the couple was distanced for about two year until their first daughter Natalia Diamante Bryant was born in January 19, 2003. And it resulted to solve the problems which had between Kobe and his parents.

The second daughter of Vanessa and Kobe Bryant is Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant who was born in May 1, 2006. But all of a sudden on December 16,2011, Venessa Bryant filed to split up their marriage and on January 11, 2013 Bryant and his wife Venessa declared through social media that they had cancelled their divorce. In the year 2016 (December) Venessa gave birth to their third daughter Bianka Bella Bryant. And in the year 2019 June she gave birth to their fourth daughter Capri Kobe Bryant. In the year 2003 Bryant arrested by the Eagle, Colorado for a complain made by a 19 year old hotel employee telling that he had raped him in his hotel room. He bought a house for $4milloion a (Mediterranean style) in Newport Coast, Newport Beach and sold it in the year 2015 May.

In the league history the second most points scored in a game was 81 and this was recorded in the year 2006. He was among the top players during the year 2013. He led the team in 2009 and 2010 championships not only that but also, they were named as the NBA finals MVP. When he was 34 years old, he has scored 30,000 points and became the youngest player to gain that much of points.

In the year 2016 Kobe retired. He was the first to play least 20 seasons.in the years 2008 and 2012 he won gold medals at the Summer Olympics by teaming with the U.S. national team. He released a film called “Dear Basketball” and for that film he won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in the year 2018. He has gained four All-Star MVP Awards in the years 2002, 2007, 2009 and 2011. For eighteen times he’d become the NBA All-Star.

Not only a basketball player he’s a singer, actor, author, film maker and a businessman. As an actor he acted in Moesha, All That and Ridiculousness. As an author he published a book named ‘The Mamba Mentality- How I Play’ and this book reflects his career. When he was in high school, he joined a rap group named ‘CHEIZAW’. And there on he has released some his own singles.

All of a sudden on January 26,2020 Kobe Bryant died in a tragedic helicopter crash with the second daughter Gianna Bryant in Calabasas, California. It is said that about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. When this happened, Kobe was 41 years old while his daughter Gianna was 13 years. And also, six family friends and the pilot were killed by this crash. Kobe and Gianna were buried in Corona del Mar in Pacific View Memorial Park, in Newport, California on February 7, 2020.
